The urban Arab house is a totally insulated private universe.
The inconspicuous doorways and anonymous walls punctuated by tiny slits for windows offer little hint of the splendour within.
But a all other world emerges once you have been welcomed inside; corridors open out onton lush
courtyard gardens and, higher up, there are the seductive flat rooftop terraces, which are so much part of the social (as well as architectural) fabric of Moroccan life.
