For those who enjoy high-altitude trekking, the summit of Djebel Toubkal at 4,167 metres is the roof of the Atlas and highest point of North Africa.

For hiking in the Sahara proper, head to Merzouga for the unforgettable sight of the ever-changing sea of dunes. or visit the giant kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou near Ouarzazate, which has been the backdrop for films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator or Prince of Persia recently.
